Where inner exploration meets embodied love
and liberation

Love Liberates, PLLC is a Chicago-based psychotherapy and consulting practice.

All of our work is rooted in trauma-responsive, anti-oppressive, LGBTQIA2S-affirming, client-centered, and harm-reductionist practices and frameworks that support bridging the mind/body connection.

Our offerings include:

Individual Therapy

We work with both youth and adults who are navigating the impacts of trauma, oppression, grief, loss, loneliness, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship/ communication challenges.

Couples Therapy

We work with intimate partners who are navigating challenges associated with balancing their needs for interdependence and connection with their needs for individuality and differentiation.

Consulting

We work with groups (institutions and organizations) who wish to collectively explore and commit to practices (policies, procedures) and behaviors (communication, decision-making, etc.) that support and enable a deeper understanding of, and capacity to create, more just and liberated cultures.

Our Providers

Marika Yip-Bannicq, PhD, LPC

I believe that relationships form the foundation of human experience, and that our deepest personal growth happens in caring, compassionate connection to ourselves and others.

Avi Bowie, LCSW
(they/he)

I consider individuals to be the experts of their experience and see my role in the therapeutic relationship as one of creating a space that is welcoming, affirming, reflective, non-judgmental, curious, and compassionate.

Sarah Jane Bowie, LCSW
(she/her)

My goal is to co-create a safe space where clients can deepen their self-awareness and self-compassion in order to explore what may be getting in the way of living a fuller, more balanced and fulfilling life.
